I am Erika Ireland and I am in my third year of studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York, USA. I spent my fall semester at the University of Rennes 2 with a program called CIEE, an American exchange program, to study French. As part of my course of study,I completed a Teaching Practicum where I spent one hour a week in learning about how to teach and spent another hour in Mrs. Tizon’s international section. This was my first time teaching, but I soon realized how much fun it was to teach my maternal language and my own culture to the students. We studied Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas and always worked on oral comprehension and written and oral expression. I really enjoyed the class because they took my activities seriously, but we always laughed and had fun. It was a privilege to have such a well spoken and well behaved class.
